Campus Update: Boston University
Jill Wolfson
KOACH Intern
It is the beginning of another exciting year at Boston University. We have
already had a couple of great shabbatot with almost 70 students in the
Conservative minyan on Friday night! There are many exciting programs
planned for the upcoming year. We are continuing our weekly Drash N' Dine with
KOACH's Rabbi Elyse Winick every Monday night and our morning minyan
begins this Thursday.
The KOACH program to kick off the year is "Apples Gone Wild," which will
be Monday, September 14th at BU Hillel. This will be a great time for students
to have fun playing "Apples to Apples" and meet the community. We are privileged
to have JTS Rabbinical student Ita Paskind leading High Holiday services for the
Conservative Minyan this year. For Sukkot, KOACH will have our 2nd Annual
"Sex in the Sukkah," during which we will have dinner and spend time discussing
sex from a Jewish point of view with a local Rabbi. In November, Rabbi Daniel
Goldfarb from the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem will be coming to have lunch
with BU Hillel.
These are only a few of the many events that will take place in the Conservative
minyan and with KOACH at Boston University this year. I am excited
to start the year and to continue building what has become a strong Conservative
community.
