Campus Update: University of WisconsinBy Simon Dick Madison, Wisconsin is truly a great place to be Jewish. With our new Hillel building, we now can provide kosher meals throughout the week, free Shabbat dinner, a gym, a basketball court, tons of books and many exciting programs to attend. This comes as an exciting change from last year, when we were without a permanent space and our attendance suffered. This year, the Conservative minyan is strong as ever with a regular crowd in the thirties. We've had some exciting events this year, including a LGBT event, community service programming, a conversation with S. Bear Bergman, the arrival of the creators of Lost, a Purim party, and many others. Recently, we had our final event of the year - a BBQ to honor the seniors and student leaders. Many attended and it was truly a great experience. The successes of this year make me feel hopeful for next year. As I leave this great city, I know KOACH, the Conservative Jews, and Hillel will be strong. Everyone should visit Madison sometime, to truly experience all that University of Wisconsin has to offer.
