Campus Update: University of Texas at Austin
By
Brandon Plost Another exciting semester is underway at the University of Texas in Austin. We have already had a few fun KOACH Shabbatot with more than 30 students at the Conservative minyan. Our services are all student-led, with student-written divrei Torah and, of course, feature tons of ruah (spirit)! The students of KOACH at UT are very busy this semester. One event I am looking forward to is Pesah Improv night, where students play improvisational theater games with a Passover twist, like on the program Whose Line is it Anyway? Last year we had more than 40 students participate in a night filled with fun and laughter. KOACH students are also helping Texas Hillel prepare for the 12th annual Israel Block Party. Israel Block Party is an all day event featuring tents focused on Israel's culture, environmentalism, society, government, religion and technology. This is just a small snapshot of the events occurring on the UT campus this semester. We are all looking forward to an enjoyable semester filled with friends, food, and learning. [Posted 3/15/10]
