Campus Update: New York UniversityBy Hilary Brandenburg Now that finals are behind us and the summer sun has arrived, it is fair to say that KOACH at New York University this year succeeded like never before. With dedicated members and an enthusiastic board, KOACH was able to provide enriching Shabbat services every week until the end. As Shabbat started to come in later, we introduced the pre-Shabbat Shmooze, to provide a sweet snack and some socializing before Friday night services. Spring was a very exciting time for KOACH at NYU, as we celebrated the end of Passover with a pizza picnic in the park, and helped make this year’s Yom Ha’atzmaut Celebration in Washington Square Park a success. We ended the year with a visit to the Tenement Museum and a junk food-filled, stress-free movie night with You Don’t Mess With the Zohan. Even though school is on break, Jewish life at NYU will never cease. If you are in New York for Shabbat this summer, feel free to check out the Bronfman Center (NYU’s Hillel Building) to see if there are any planned activities for that week. Mazal tov and thank you to all the new KOACH alumni; we will miss you and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors! Have a great and relaxing summer! [Posted 7/11/10]
