Sample Itinerary for KOACH birthright israel  

 Day 1

  • Arrive El Al 022, 04:10
  • Go up to Jerusalem for Shehecheyanu at the Haas Promenade and breakfast
  • Enter the Jewish Quarter
  • 8:30 Shacharit at the Southern Wall
  • 9:30 Davidson Museum
  • Lunch
  • Check in to hotel for rest time
  • Security Orientation
  • Mincha and Maariv
  • 6:20 and 6:40 Tunnel Tour
  • Late dinner at hotel
  • Overnight Jerusalem, Dan Panorama

   Day 2

  • Shacharit
  • 8:00-11:00 Take boxed breakfast and walk to the Conservative Yeshiva for Shacharit and study
  • 11:30-1:00 Mt. Herzl
  • Lunch on your own at Harel Mall
  • Travel South
  • Towards evening visit the grave of David Ben Gurion
  • Mincha and Maariv overlooking Nachal Zin
  • 7:00 Dinner at Kibbutz Mashabei Sadeh Guesthouse
  • Evening program (by Koach)
  • Overnight South, Mashabei Sadeh

   Day 3

  • Hike at Ein Avdat
  • Travel to the Dead Sea
  • Dead Sea float and lunch
  • Mincha and Maariv
  • Masorati Garin will come up from Kibbutz Ketura for overnight (arranged by Koach)
  • Dinner at the hostel
  • Overnight, Massada Youth Hostel

   Day 4

  • Massada sunrise—Tour and time for Shacharit and Torah service
  • Ascend by the Snake Path and descend by cable car or by foot
  • Visit the Synagogue at Ein Gedi
  • Return to Jerusalem
  • Visit Ammunition Hill
  • Mincha and Ma’ariv
  • Travel to Jerusalem for the Mega
  • Mega Event in Jerusalem (boxed dinner)
  • Overnight Jerusalem, Dan Panorama

   Day 5

  • Shacharit
  • 10:00-12:00 - Dig for a Day
  • Lunch on your own in Beit Shemesh
  • Go up to Jerusalem
  • Climb the Castel for a view of Jerusalem and an understanding of the seige of the city in 1948
  • Prepare for Shabbat
  • 4:15 Candle Lighting in front of the dining hall
  • 4:30 Kabbalat Shabbat
  • 6:00 Dinner
  • 8:00 Oneg Shabbat (Koach)
  • Overnight Jerusalem, Dan Panorama

   Day 6

  • 9:00-11:00 T’fillot
  • 12:30 Kiddush and lunch
  • 3:30-5:00 Study session and Seudat Shlishit (organized by Koach)
  • 5:30 Havdalah
  • Dinner at hotel
  • Evening Cultural Event, Hilulim Club
  • Overnight Jerusalem, Dan Panorama

   Day 7

  • Shacharit
  • 8:30-11:00 Yad Vashem
  • Leave Jerusalem with lunch on your own enroute
  • Daliyat Hacarmel –visit and shop
  • 3:30 Tree-planting at Lavi
  • Travel north
  • Mincha and Maariv
  • Dinner at hotel
  • Zedek Project—Magen David Adom Blood Bank
  • Overnight Kibbutz Kfar Giladi Guesthouse

   Day 8

  • Shacharit in Conservative synagogue in Tsfat
  • 9:00 Tsfat—the city of Jewish Mysticism
  • Jeep ride up to the Golan Heights
  • Lunch on your own
  • 3:00 Hammat Gader—swimming in the hot pools in the Golan Heights and BarBQ dinner
  • Mincha and Maariv
  • Overnight Kibbutz Kfar Giladi Guesthouse

  Day 9

  • Shacharit
  • 10:00-1:00 Zippori National Park for a tour and study session with Rabbi Elisha Wolfin
  • Zichron Yaakov—tour of this First Aliyah city
  • Mincha and Maariv (possibly in the Ohel Yaakov synagogue)
  • Dinner in Zichron
  • Travel to Tel Aviv and check into hotel
  • Overnight Tel Aviv, Dan Panorama

 

 Day 10

  • Shacharit
  • 9:00 Diaspora Museum
  • 1:00-4:30 Lunch, walking tour and study at Neot Kedumim
  • 5:30 Written evaluation session and summary
  • Final dinner at the hotel
  • Overnight Tel Aviv, Dan Panorama

   Day 11

  • 7:30 Depart for airport
  • El Al flight 007, 10:40
