Creative Grants Program
KOACH is designed as a partnership combining your
energy, ideas, and creativity and our resources. We have established the
KOACH CREATIVE GRANTS PROGRAM for campuses throughout North America and
Israel, in order to help fund innovative projects developed through
student initiative.
Here's how:
-
Develop an idea for a project, program or event
which you would like to see on your campus.
-
Gather a group of interested students and brainstorm
together to create the best idea possible.
-
Find an interested sponsor, preferably your Hillel
director or another Jewish professional on campus.
-
Submit a proposal for review by the KOACH Grants
Committee (made up of students, staff and members of our Lay Advisory
Committee).
If your proposal is approved, we expect that in
addition to putting together a brilliant event, your campus will be part
of the ongoing KOACH experience, by sending at least one student to a
regional or national KOACH program as well as by submitting a report which
describes your efforts to our KOACH on Campus newsletter.
KOACH CREATIVE GRANTS are being offered on a limited
basis.
Proposals for projects, programs or events should
reflect the orientation and practices of the Conservative Movement in that
they:
-
Contribute to the experience of Conservative Judaism
on your campus.
-
Reflect the Conservative Movement's approach of
combining traditional and modern insights in confronting contemporary
issues.
-
Provide opportunities for Jewish students to come
together in social gathering and/or religious celebration.
-
Bring students together for tikkun olam (social
activism).
-
This may mean different things on different
campuses. For some it may mean supporting a Conservative minyan, for
others it may be engaging in Jewish learning, planning a shabbaton, or
doing some type of social service project.
How to Apply
In a detailed description of the project or program
you have planned, please address the following:
-
What are the objectives of your group and the
project, program or event you wish to sponsor?
-
Who is your target group?
-
How will you implement the activity?
-
Will this be an ongoing project?
-
How does this project relate to the concerns and
objectives of the Conservative Judaism?
-
Who is the professional who will be working with
you?
-
What is your proposed budget?
-
Are there other potential sources of income to
support the program?
-
How will you evaluate the project?
The turnaround time for grant proposals is
approximately three weeks following the deadline. If your proposal is
approved, you must submit a letter of evaluation and all receipts within
one month of the program's completion.
We will accept requests for amounts up to $500 per
campus. Because funds are limited, smaller requests will be looked upon
favorably.
Submit proposals to:

programs.
